Problems editing page with cornerstone

Hi, I think Cornerstone is not working properly, any element I add to a page (also a new page) doesn’t show.
I have added an image and a Text. The text finally appeared (it took a long time), but the image doesn’t load.

I attach a screen so you can see it.

I have also that problem that is related often in the forums: The preview could not load due…".
I attach you another screen.

I have read many forum posts about it and have increased memory limit in wp-config.php. But It’s not working.

I have used x-theme two times before, and I hadn’t this problems, please answer as son as possible.

I send you also login data in private mode.
The page I am trying to edit is web.amuccam.org/prueba3

Thanks for asking. I am sorry for the trouble you are facing with Cornerstone.

I installed WP-Serverinfo plugin on your website to see current server configuration. While most of the settings look fine, please make sure PHP Max Execution Time and set it for 600 for optimal usage. Currently it’s 120s.

If that does not help, please try deleting Cornerstone from Plugins > Installed Plugins and then visit X > Validation to automatically install Cornerstone. After that try again editing the contents using Cornerstone.

Hello, I have set PHP Max Execution time to 600 in the server.

The problem was not solved and I deleted cornerstone plugin. When I got to X > Validatoin, cornerstone was installed automatically.

Now If I enter into a new page, it only shows header and footer. If I add a new section i can’t see anything. You can see it in a new page called “prueba5”
If I edit Demo Home page, I can see all section in left panel, but in right panel only footer and header is shown.

Thanks for providing the information Upon inspection, it appears that you are using an older version of MySQL 5.5.15. Please have this update and make sure that you have meet the requirements to run WordPress. You can check the requirement details from this link: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

Hi, I have now tha page connected to MySql 5.6 and the problem still goes on.

If you try to edit with cornerstone page Demo Home, it loads all setcions in left panel, but non of them in right panel.

If you try to edit with cornerstone page called prueba5, it loads one section, but if you put an element in the section at the right panel, a never endnig loading gif appears, and doesn’t load the element.

I’ll attach FTP credentials also.

There’s a problem with accessing your server (see secure note).

You said you used X 2 times without problems. Are you using the same host?

I also see your memory limit is set to 256. Could you increase it to 512?

Yes, I have used twice the theme. And in the same host.
I have set memory limit to 512.
The problem still goes on.

I send you in secur note ftp credentials again. I have tried again and can access files correctly.

Thanks, but that is the same FTP credentials and its not working, please confirm. Are the other sites that you’re referring to are also in Microsoft-IIS/8.5 server?

Lets try cleaning the transient cache

Please backup your site and try to install and run Transient Cleaner (https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/artiss-transient-cleaner/).

1. Install Transient Cleaner
2. Navigate Dashboard -> Tools -> Transients
3. Set Clear Expired Transients -> Enable
4. Select Run Now
5. Set Remove All Transients -> Enable
6. Set Remove All Transients -> Optimize Afterwards
7. Set Remove All Transients -> Clean Now
8. Save Changes
9. Recheck your Cornerstone for functionality

Hi,

I have only a hosting plan and a panel and all my pages are hosted there.

I have used transient cleaner and it doesn’t work.

In a secure note I’ll attach you again two FTP credentials. One is the same i gave you twice but I add new credentials for the main ftp account. I have trried both and they work for me. I use Filezilla and I have tried too from windows explorer.
If you use main ftp, please enter into the folder named web.amuccam.org, there is where the wordpress web is hosted.

I am still not able to access the directories of your website. I tried both the credentials you shared but getting following error message.

Response: 	534 Protection level negotiation failed.
Error:        	Failed to retrieve directory listing

Hi, i think I know what is the problem with FTP.
In last versions of Filezilla, it tries to connect with TLS, If you make quick connect in the top bar, it is like that. I have tried and had the same problem as you.

This can be changed from Site Manager. Please add a site with the credenetials and change “Use explicit FTP over TLS” by “Only use plain FTP”

I have tried this way and the problem solved.

Yes, it works that way. I usually use plain FTP too :slight_smile:

The issue is because of file permission, or file system related restriction. Cornerstone uses functions such us file_exists() and other related functions, but it fails due to your host restriction.

file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/definition.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (****) in ***\wp-content\plugins\cornerstone\includes\classes\classic\elements\class-element-orchestrator.php on line 219

I suggest contacting your hosting provider and fix this restriction :slight_smile:

Hi, my hosting provider says they have removed some restrictions as you suggested, but I have the same problem, please take a look to confirm taht restrictions doesnt’ exist yet.
