Problem with revolution Slider

Hello,

For some reason i found myself with a very weird issue regarding revolution slider.
Basically, i do not have the ability of fixing layers on a slide, anymore. i have no idea what’s causing it but it seems like an internal conflict.

Could you please take a look? it started out of nowhere today. here’s a small video of the issue: https://www.useloom.com/share/9c38d98a19864621a7b2123b211f42ef

as you can see on the homepage slider (the one of the sea) for any reason, the layers can’t be fixed (as opposed to the other slider made just seconds before the recording), even though it hasn’t been touched in weeks (almost a month really).

I tried searching for a plugin conflict and found none, i tried the troubleshooting section on the themepunch site and nothing. i have no idea what on earth happened, i believe the last time i accessed the site was yesterday or the day before and it was working.

Hi @elpanda13,

Thanks for writing in.

I have tested your revolution slider and it is working well. I could change or add image with no problem. I believe that this could be a problem with your browser. Try to clear your site and browser cache before checking again.

If still happening, share us the browser and device model and version that you are using so we could try replicate the setup in our side.

You could try also reinstalling your browsers.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks.

The problem is not with adding or removing images. the problem is with avoiding layers from disappearing ( check this post: https://www.themepunch.com/faq/prevent-layers-from-disappearing/ )

if you try to do that on the slider i mentioned, it doesn’t work. instead if i do that on a newly created slider, it does work. the thing is that the slider hasn’t been touched or anything, hasn’t been imported (i created it from scratch using another example) hasn’t been edited in weeks and it worked until yesterday. i even tried updating the plugin, updating wordpress, checking for plugin conflicts and that didn’t change anything. the problem seems to be in the same slider but i have no idea why or what’s causing it.

P.S: I’m using chrome on a windows 10 pc (if that is useful to you)

Hi Alejandro,

I checked the case and I honestly have no idea why this is happening. As this is happening only on one slide it seems to be a corrupt one. The strange thing is that you say you did not touch that slider at all.

Anyway, the only suggestion that I can give is that you back up your website completely and update the Revolution Slider to version 5.4.7.4.

If that does not help I’m afraid you will need to recreate the slider from scratch.

Thank you.

I thought so. i had already updated to 5.4.7.4 and the error is still there. i also thought it was a corrupted slider but well, i’ll recreate it again. hopefully that will solve the issue.

Thanks!

Ok, i have no idea what on earth happened but the slider fixed itself!

the “solution” was to slide the duration of the slider and add a VERY long time (i wanted to use that as a workaround in the meantime i created the new slidedr), i updated the slide time and set it to 60s and it now allows me to make the layer permanently visible.

Hi Panda Person

There are problems with Pro - X and Rev Slider working with each other as a whole.

I’m not sure why they are not giving out this advice - my thread hasn’t been answered since resolving some issues but not others unfortunately.

Try navigating to your Rev Slider GLOBAL SETTINGS in the main left panel of your dashboard. Select “Insert javascript into footer”.

This should help!

Hi there, thanks for the advice!

I solved the issue by sheer luck haha, read the post above (we almost published at the same time!) i think by modifying the slide time Rev Slider overwrote something that sort of ended the corruption and fixed things.

I had tried adding the JS in the footer and that didn’t solve the issue back then :frowning: the slider probably just got corrupted although i have no idea how because the entire system (wp version, plugins, etc) hadn’t been touched in a while!

haha well done!

It’s worth keeping the rev slider up to date as soon as there is a release as they’re prone to breaking and also you may be aware, prone to hacking :frowning:

I’m putting JS in the footer in all of my sites now as rev slider will even conflict with essential grid even though they’re both made by theme punch :see_no_evil:

haha, well, putting the JS in the footer is a good practice for SEO as well, so no problem there!
