Problem with cross-sell

Hi there,

I’m having trouble setting up the woocommerce cross-sell element.

I have added inside the modal the “cross-sell” element, and in the product>linked products, I have linked the product I wanted.

Unfortunately, the cross sell is not showing at all…

Please watch the video down below:

I would appreciate if I get a reply back…

Hello Katarina,

Thanks for writing in! We respond to threads in chronological. Please do not bump or self respond your thread so that it will not be queued back which make us respond to it a little longer.

Please be advised that a Cross Sells will only display on the cart page. On single product layouts, you can only display related products and the upsell products.

Best Regards.

Hi Ruenel,

Thanks for the explanation, but I am confused. Here’s a website where he made on the /product/ page the “cross-sell” option.

I went ahead and inspected the element. From my understanding, he used the modal button and added the option when clicked the modal button, it added the “Thermal” product to the cart and on the modal element there’s the custom like “offer or cross-sell”… that’s exactly what I wanted.

As you can see from this video:

I have already tried to set it up that way, but I need help since I don’t know how to set it up properly…

Hopefully, you can help me with that!

Best regards,

Hello Katarina,

You cannot simply use the Cross-Sells dynamic element because Cross-Sells dynamic element will only work on cart pages. The example websites to have manually inserted a product as the cross-sell product with the add to cart button. This is what is on my mind which I am not sure of because I haven’t seen how he manage to have a layout like that. All I know is that it will only work like the example website if he inserted the product manually into the modal element.

Hope this makes sense.

Hi Ruenel,

Yes, exactly.

How can we replicate it with the manual method? Like the example website:

I’m not sure how to set up properly the modal, and add to cart buttons… Hopefully you can help me with that

Also, what do you think about this idea?
I was thinking of inserting a global block inside the modal element, and when I want to manually edit out the custom “Cross-sell” lookalike, it will change everywhere.

Hopefully you understand

Best regards,
Kate

Hello Kate,

You can insert the product manually by using the WooCommerce Product dynamic shortcode.

Hi Ruenel,

Yes, I understood that, but how do I make the modal button when clicked to add the product?

Exactly like in the example website “musicore”

Hi Katarina,

I have inspected the example website and in the Toggle button, a custom class and attribute was added:

Best Regards.

Hi Ruenel,

That seems to work, but messes up other things.

When the product is added to the cart, the “cart off canvas” element from the header opens, and there’s also the cart animation. Please watch this video: https://youtu.be/sRcRynihERs

I want when the button is clicked ONLY to add the product to the cart.
No cart of canvas… no animations, how can I do that please?

Also, how do I create an add to cart button that adds products and forwards them to checkout immediately on click?

Following up on this

Hey Katarina,

The issue you’re having is not caused by Pro. It’s because you have AJAX Add to Cart functionality added by a 3rd party plugin. We cannot provide support for that.

Disable the AJAX add to cart you’ve added to your site.

Disable the AJAX add to cart you’ve added to your site and try following the WooCommerce setting (not the plugin, not the snippet) here https://learnwoo.com/skip-cart-page-redirect-checkout-page-woocommerce/

If you want some products to open the canvas and other products direct to checkout, that is not something Pro and WooCommerce could do out of the box. You will need custom development that can’t be provided here or even in One. You’d need a custom function to be created by a developer. If you don’t have one, you can check out our Elite service here: https://elite.theme.co/

Thank you for understanding.

Thanks for your reply Chris,

Is there any way that we can create a button like this?

/checkout/?add-to-cart=12340

How do I need to set up a button like that properly?

Hey Katarina,

Yes. Insert that as the URL of the Button element so that it will go to the Checkout page and while adding the product to the total.

How do I add multiple products, for example, 2 products?

This doesn’t work

Hey Katarina,

Multiple products is not possible without custom development.

Hey Katarina,

As you can see, it requires custom code. You can follow the code in your links, but we cannot provide support if they don’t work.

Thank you for understanding.
