Problem with Cornestone update

Hi all

I need support for a trouble with my new license.

I bought the license for my website, I added it to my website but when I update Cornestone plugin the backend of Wordpress was not more available. I received an email with a link for recovering mode and I backupped my last version.

In recovery mode I read this trouble

So now my website works well but I have to insert the licence and do updates.

Could you help me?

Thanks

Hi @robinhoodsf,

Thank you for writing in, when you update Cornerstone, did you update X and WordPress as well? If not, please do so. So it’s all in the compatible version.

If the issue persists, please provide us login credentials on a “Secure Note” so we can take a closer look.

Cheers,

Hi @friech,

I tried again but I had the same issue.

The problem is with Cornestone, and I don’t understand what that is. In fact, I updated X and Wordpress as you said, and all worked great.

But, when I updated Cornestone the website again crashed, so I was forced to restore website with the recovery wp mode where I had the opportunity to backup.

I put credential in secure note.

Thanks

Hello @robinhoodsf

Please make sure your server PHP version is 7.4 or plus as recommended on our version compatibility page. It is also recommended by WordPress as well please have a look at this article.

It would be best if you could copying your live website to your staging area. then update the theme.

I would suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version

I would also suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.
1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If it doesn’t work for you please share the credentials of the staging server with FTP detail so that we can investigate without breaking your live site.

Thanks

Hello @prakash_s,

I share you FTP details in secure note. Probably I have to authorize your IP.

I am waiting for your answer.

Thanks

Hi @robinhoodsf,

It seems that the PHP version is the reason behind your issue, I would suggest you upgrade the PHP version to 7.4 by contacting your Hosting Service provide and check if that issue resolves or not.

Please remember that updating the PHP version is not in the scope of Theme Support, it is a Hosting Service provider’s part who can do it for you.

Thanks
