I am reporting a bug where PayPal customers are not receiving order confirmation emails. Cursory research led me to this thread https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/15992#issuecomment-315908789 where the issue was albeit, not Theme.Co, but nonethless theme related and I thought that it might be a good idea to make your team aware. As mentioned in the GitHub link you provided it could be a theme or a plugin related issue, I recommend what was mentioned in the GitHub issue by “1manfactory”:
The customer simply does not wait till he gets redirected to the shop. I tested it with my wife when I finally realiced the problem. She never waits till she gets redirected, she always closed the browser tab.
Hence WooCommerce never receives a payment confirmation.
So the status gets stuck at “awayting payment.”
If this isn’t the case, then I suggest creating a staging copy of your website (most hosting providers support this out of the box), then activating the default WordPress theme and recheck this issue, that should help you to decide if it’s a theme related issue or not?
