PRO - Where is the style.css files that is not minified?

Hi Themeco Team ~

I just upgraded to Pro. I know it’ll be great once I figure out where things I need have moved to…

In previous X versions, I was able to find the “style.scss” file from which I could copy CSS and paste it into my child theme’s “style.css” file where I would modify it. In Pro, I can only find the “style.css” file that is minified. Please let me know where to find a “style” file that is not minified.

And… I can’t seem to find a Knowledge Base that is dedicated to Pro. I’m sure it’s there somewhere. Please point me in the right direction.

Cheers!
Sally

Hello Sally,

Thanks for writing in! Pro is an advance X theme. Most of the theme files are a bit the same. In Pro there were features added and removed like the customizer manager, demo contents, header builder and footer builders. As we have release the latest version of X and Pro, the *.scss files were no longer included in the theme files.

You may find Pro theme related knowledge base articles on this page: https://theme.co/apex/forum/c/themeco/kb

If you need anything else we can help you with, please let us know.

HI… Thanks for your reply. Since I am not experienced enough to write complicated CSS from scratch, I would always start with the source CSS that you guys wrote and copy it into my child theme and then revise it there. So, is it OK to reuse the CSS from my older X child themes in PRO? It’s mostly buttons, heads, etc., that are different from the global settings, along with some different tables and lists – nothing heavy duty.

As for the KB… I had already been where you pointed me (thank you!), but thought there might be an exclusive KB for PRO only. I do see that some items are indicated as PRO. So, do the other entries apply to both PRO and X? (Sorry, I’m still a little confused about the differences between X and PRO.)

Anyway, great work Themeco! I appreciate your help.

Cheers.

Hello There,

You can still reuse the CSS from the older X. It should work with no issues unless otherwise there was a major change for that particular element. I would suggest that you check the changelog and look for any of the changes that might affect your css if there is any. As for our KB, most settings applies for X and Pro. Basically Pro has all the features and X settings except of course for the customizer manager and demo content section which is only available in X theme. Those articles that are labeled as PRO, those are available only in Pro. In short, X is for beginners and intermediate users while Pro theme is for intermediate and advance users.

Hope this helps.

Hi ~ Sorry for the late reply. But thanks so much for your help. As usual, you guys are the best!

Cheers ~ Sally

You’re welcome!
