Pro visual builder now only shows header & footer but not content

Hey there,

could you help me out?
My pro builder used to work but now only shows my header and footer and no content at all in all pages except for “Kontakt” - there it still works.

Login credentials follow…

You don’t need to look it up. I found the error - The “Convert Plus” plugin is causing this!!!
I deactivated it and everything works. Makes sense, as I did not use this plugin on the “Kontakt” page (which still worked all along the way).

But maybe you should try to find the error in combination with that plugin. Feel free to have a look at my page, if that helps. Login for you will be kept upright.

Hey @syquest,

Yes, there’s an issue with ConvertPlus. A patch has been added to the latest version. Please uninstall ConvertPlus and install again via Pro > Overview.

Thanks.

I’m having the same problem and I only installed Pro in the past day or tow. I had installed X-theme a week or so ago. ConvertPlus is not installed for me. Is there something additional I need to do to convert the content created outside of pro so it shows up when I edit it Pro?

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in! Are you referring to this site? I don’t see any issue on that site, please clarify.

You said you installed X-theme, but your license and that site is in PRO? is there a chance that you install the Cornerstone? if so, please deactivate and delete the Cornerstone, PRO does not need CS and can cause conflict. PRO has the built-in Content builder which works same as CS.

Cheers!

Sorry for the delay. I missed this while down with a cold. I am referring to a separate website. I was searching for that problem and found this thread. (Let me know if we need to move this to it’s own thread.)

Our site is http://paws4kids4paws.org/. We are very new…

We started a few weeks ago with another free WordPress theme and had a little bit of content up (a couple pages?). Someone we respect suggested X-Theme so we bought that and installed it, which included Cornerstone. We quickly bought the Pro upgrade but didn’t install it for a week. During that week, I didn’t know what Cornerstone was so was just building in the WordPress Editor.

I converted to Pro. Cornerstone automatically deactivated. The problem is most of our existing content does not show up in the Pro Editor, just like the other people in this thread said happened with them. We see the content until we select “Edit” for the page within Pro. I don’t want to lose the content and I don’t know what will happen if I add new content section blocks within Pro right now. As a result, we have to keep editing the content with the WP editor, not the Pro Editor. (Can’t edit what you can’t see…)

We have very few plug-ins installed so far (one we have installed that not from you all is Yoast).

So how do I get my content to show up / be visible in / convert over to Pro?

P.S. I’m providing a screen shot of 1 page from within the Pro Editor that you can compare to the live website. All pages have the same basic issue.

Hello There,

Thank you for the clarifications. Cornerstone and the Pro content editor will help you build the page/post contents by simply dragging elements into the editor preview. Since most of your posts and page contents were added using the default WordPress editor, all of those contents when you edit the page in Cornerstone or Pro content editor will be discarded and will not display in the editor preview. That is because, Cornerstone or Pro content editor will wrap the contents with formatting shortcode first because you can add a heading or paragraphs. Any existing contents will be discarded and replaced with the new contents you will be adding in the Cornerstone or Pro content editor. So if you do not wish to lose the existing post/page contents, I would recommend that you leave it as is and do not edit it. If you want to add something or would like to add more elements, sections, rows or column, then you will have to edit the page, discard existing contents and start from scratch.

Hope this make sense.

Ok, So I need to be careful so that I don’t lose my original content. Two follow-ups:

  1. If I add a content section element in Pro and add the existing text to it, then that should fix it so that the content show up in the Pro editor, right?
I’ll need to do that for each page separately.
I’ll want to make sure I have the time to get the content and put it in the content section correctly before I save it
(so I don’t lose anything while making the changes).

  2. What happens after I add the content sections in Pro editor if someone else edits a sentence or adds some text using the WordPress Editor in an existing Pro Content Section? What if they add a new heading? Does Pro see headings as new sections?

Since I will have other contributors over time, I want to make sure we train them all on the preferred way to edit the content.

It’s hard to know the recommended practices when just starting. Thanks much for your help!

Hi there,

  1. Yes, you can add your content in text element and it should be permanent. And yes, all are correct.

  2. Their added content will be displayed on the live page, but once you edit it again in Pro builder then all that changes will be ignored and they will be gone.

Thanks!

Thanks. I’ll make sure our other people know to work in the Pro Editor for content.

Are there any guidance articles on what changes should be made in Pro and which ones we use the WordPress navigation menu for? For example, I’m unclear on the best way to edit the main sidebar (not a custom separate sidebars) since not all the widgets appear to show up there.

Hi there,

May I know what changes you wish to do? I’m not sure if I fully understand your last question.

The only way to edit the sidebar content is through widgets (Admin > Appearance > Widgets), would you mind clarifying what’s not appearing and what should be added there?

Thanks!
