Pro Theme Not Validating on all SubDomain Multisites

Hello,

In my multisite network admin dashboard, I have uploaded the Pro and Pro Childthemes to my themes. I have three WP dashboards I’m working with: k9storm.com, personal.k9storm.com, and working.k9storm.com. The themes are showing up on k9storm.com but not on personal.k9storm.com or working.k9strom.com.

I installed the themes on personal.k9storm.com, thinking that although the network is enabled on the themes, that perhaps I still needed to download. It says that my licence is being used and so I cannot use it on personal.k9storm.com.

I’ve read that you can use your pro theme across your subdomains on your mutlisite. Is this true? If so, why is this not working for me?

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! If you have a multi site set up, you can use Pro theme in any of your sub domains or sub directory in your multisite setup. You can validate it as well as long as you have assigned the license code to that sub domain or sub directory. You will need to go to your licenses page (https://theme.co/apex/licenses) to manage the license codes. Once it is assign, you should be able to validate it.

The only problem is that in multisite setup, you can only do the updates in the main site. To make the update more easier, just update Pro theme manually by downloading the fresh copy of the theme from your dashboard (https://theme.co/apex/dashboard), unzip the files, login to your ftp and upload the files to the themes folder wp-content/themes/pro/. For best results, rename pro folder to old_pro before you upload the new pro folder. You can delete the old_pro folder later on.

Hi Jeff,

Multisites do use the same set of plugins and themes within the wp-content folder. That means if you update the Theme on your main site (as a super admin), then it will update the theme on the sub-domains as well. Yes, you only need to validate your main domain.

However, if those sub-domains are owned by separate end users, then they should have a license on their own. As no parts of our theme can be shared or repurposed for multiple end users.
