PRO Theme / CS Form issue

Hi,

I had WP Super Cache and Redis installed on my site for some time. When I encountered issues with the CS Forms plugin, as described in other threads, I disabled both caching plugins. After making some conclusions, I re-enabled them again.

The first problem was that WP didn’t see the PRO Theme and asked to install it however it was there. In the end I deleted both PRO and Child PRO Themes and re-installed and activated them again.

Then, PRO indicated that it was in an active state, but it also showed that CS Forms were not installed. However, if I tried to install it again it said that its directory already exists and failed. Similarly to PRO issue mentioned earlier when I checked via terminal the folder of CS Forms inside /wp-content/plugins/ was there. I didn’t see it inside WP Installed Plugins section at that point of time, however. I removed the cornerstone-forms from the plugin directory in the terminal and only after that I was able to re-install it from the PRO Max Section at the WP back-end. Now I also see it at the WP Installet Plugins.

This isn’t a ticket needing your resolution, but I just wanted to report the odd behavior of the PRO Theme and CS Forms plugin.

P.S. The first version of CS Forms on this site was set up by hand using the instructions given, as it could not be installed from the PRO Max Section at that moment yet.

Hello John,

Thanks for writing to us.

Appreciate the report of the unusual behavior of the PRO Theme, especially when the Cornerstone Forms plugin is involved. It’s good feedback, nonetheless, as it can help us identify the problem when other users encounter the same issue. Plugins like WP Super Cache or Redis can, in fact, cause WordPress to not recognize updates made to the theme or plugins, even after re-enabling the theme or plugins. By deleting and reinstalling the PRO/Child themes, a new DB entry is forced, bypassing the cached “not installed” states. For the Cornerstone Forms plugin, deleting the /wp-content/plugins/cornerstone-forms/ directory via the terminal cleared the filesystem conflict and enabled WP to recreate the directory and correctly update the wp_options table. PRO’s dashboard (Max) will recognize it, as the install process flushes any remaining cache connections.

Thank you for sharing the feedback.
