Pro Slider Juddering In Marquee Mode

Hi,

I have a Pro slider at the bottom of the homepage at https://www.elliewhite.co.uk/, immediately above the footer, which displays a product list. The slider option is set to Marquee, so that the list of products should slide smoothly from right to left.

However, the slider seems to judder heavily in its movement. Is this something that can be fixed, or is it a bug in the slider?

Thanks,
Christopher

Hello @whitemedia,

Thanks for writing in! We have tried replicating the issue in our local testing server and the slider when set in Marquee mode is working smoothly on our end. When we check your site, there seems quite several active plugins. It could be that something is causing the issue in your site like a plugin or your site cache. We would highly recommend that you do the following:

  1. Testing For Theme Related Issue
  2. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  3. Theme Update
  4. Child Theme
  5. Css/Js Customization
  6. Disabling Cache
  7. Disabling Cdn
  8. Version Compatibility

Kindly let us know how it goes.

Hi Ruenel,

I have disabled all plugins, including the cache and the problem continues.

Pro is updated to the latest version, as are WP and all plugins. There is no CDN in operation. PHP has been updated to 8.1. PHP memory has been upped to 1024M.

In Chrome’s Inspector I see that the Console shows many errors, which seem to possibly point to the error?

Thanks,
Christopher

Hi @whitemedia,

I have tried the same in my local environment, but can’t replicate the problem you described here. It might be something external or settings of the Slider is affected. I have tried to check the settings, but it shows the blank page after a few time. In this scenario, I would suggest you please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site.
And give us access in the secure note including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

Thanks

I have created a staging version of the website for you to have a look at.

Hi @whitemedia,

I have deactivated all the plugins, removed the custom JavaScript, and removed all the content before and after the slider and it worked perfectly fine on a temporary page. It seems the problem is with the plugin or any of the sections on the same page. I would suggest you deactivate the plugins once again and, if that does not help, delete the section one by one till the issue is fixed, and the last one you have deleted before the fix is the actual issue.

Thanks

Hi @tristup,

I have no idea what the problem was. I created a new version of the page, using templates of all the sections, except the problem slider.

The slider section I rebuilt from scratch using identical settings to the original version. It scrolls smoothly!

There must have been a niggle in the original set up. Nothing else has been altered.

Thanks for your help though,
Christopher

More info. Maybe one for @charlie or @kory, as this was brought up in the v6 Beta forum.

It seems that teb nuddering behaviour occurs if there are many items in the dynamic product feed.

In the (Pro Slider module) Product Carousel Slider > Customise > Looper Provider > Count, if the Count is set to a high number the juddering occurs. If set at 6, the slider moves smoothly. If set at 100 juddering is prominent. I originally had it set at 1000 to allow for all products to be included.

@charlie and @kory, can you replicate this at your end?

Happy Christmas,
Christopher

Yes I can, thanks for the info. Probably performance related. Sliders is on the radar for getting a tune up and marquee mode is known to only work correctly in linear animations. We’re starting with fixing the dragging and then moving on to performance.
Merry Christmas!
