Pro - image size

Hi,

I have a row (3 columns) with a classic image in each. I’d like the images to be the same height and responsive. I tried using max height in class but that just stretched out one of the images. Not the look I was going for.

Also - how do I establish alignment of the image so I don’t need to crop it etc in photoshop. (middle, bottom etc.) I’ve done this before but can’t recall.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Elly,

Thanks for writing in! Please use an image resize tool or a software like Photoshop and prepare similar resolution images first and it should then scale proportionally on your site.

For example, here are some standard image resolutions as follows.

  • 1920px (width) X 1080px (height)
  • 1280px (width) X 1024px (height)
  • 1280px (width) X 720px (height)
  • 1024px (width) X 768px (height)
  • 800px (width) X 600px (height)
  • 640px (width) X 480px (height)

When you upload an image where it’s height is greater than the width (for example 400px width and 600px height), it will always maintain it’s height when you scale down your image. So it’s better to prepare your images in a standard size before uploading it into your site.

Hope that’s clear.

What you’ve said is clear.

I guess I thought Pro allowed you to drop images so you wouldn’t need to use a photo editor. Maybe using a feature box or something.

Hey Elly,

That could be a WordPress feature but Pro or X do not have this option, you’ll have to use a photo editing software to do that.

Thanks.
