Hi,

In my PRO Header of one of my sites in a multisite setup, the navigation layered element doesnt display in edit mode and says: This element could not render due to invalid template markupThis could be due to changes introduced by a third party plugin. The front end of your site should still function normally.

The site and header look fine when viewing but just not when editing.

Im on 2.4.6 and WP 4.9.9. i did try updating to PRO last night to 2.5, cleared the cache but Cornerstone would not load and the spinning circle just stayed on the screen when i was trying to go into cornerstone. I didn’t update WP to 5.1 so i’m not sure if i needed to update WP also but from what i have read on here, updating didn’t solve the issue.

My other site here: https://hadleylearningcommunity.org.uk/primary doesn’t have the issue. I have disabled plugins etc to no avail.

Any ideas?

Apologies for the weird title of the post - it copied some extra stuff off my clipboard.

One more thing to mention is that it doesnt always produce this error. Most of the time it does but sometimes it displays in edit mode fine. It’s very weird.

Hello Chris,

Thanks for writing in! Please make sure that you do not insert any broken html in any element within your header. A broken html might have conflict or create issue with the preview resulting to an error. When that happens and you cannot check other elements and its settings, you can use the skeleton mode to edit the page for faster response and easy access of the elements on the preview area.
