We have a site where for no reason all the content (rows, containers, elements, css, js) in our footer vanished. The footer is still defined but everything else is gone. nothing was updated, changed, resaved. it just vanished this morning.
Hello @alex5252,
Thanks for writing in! It seems that you are using an older version of the Pro theme (2.4.6). Could you please update to the latest versions? Our latest versions is:
- Pro theme 2.5.4
This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).
_After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.-
Please let us know how it goes.
updated Pro to 2.5.4 but the footer still hasn’t reappeared.
Hi There,
To further narrow down your issue, please follow the instructions below.
-
I see that you have around 27 active plugins. Please disable your 3rd party plugins temporally and see if you’re experiencing a plugin conflict. If the issue is resolved, then you can activate your plugins one by one to see which plugin causing this issue.
-
You can also disable your child theme temporally and see if your issue is related to your child theme customizations.
Since you have WP Rocket plugin, I suggest you to clear all caches before testing your issue again. Please follow this guide on how to clear all caches (https://www.wpbeginner.com/beginners-guide/how-to-clear-your-cache-in-wordpress/).
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!
So I deactivated the child theme and all the plugins, and cleared the cache and still the problem persists.
Hi @alex5252,
Updating the theme will not make the footer reappear once you saved your footer before the update. I recommend re-creating your footer or restore the database back to when it’s still displayed. The conflict affected the data and when saved, it will stay permanently on that specific data.
Thanks!
