Pro Editor/ Classic Editor Issue

Hello there!

When I go to add new post, it is a blank page that won’t load. I installed “classic editor” but it had issues with Yoast SEO plugin which was very important to me. Hoping we could get some help with this issue. I really liked the newer editor. Classic editor is fine too, but need my Yoast SEO to work. I will provide login info in the next post. www.hohcamp.com is the website!

Hi Patty,

Thanks for reaching out!

I check your website and I can’t replicate the issue because the post page is just loading fine. Would you mind sharing more information on how we can replicate it? Providing screenshots or videos is a great help.

On the other hand, maybe it’s just a cache. I suggest that you clear your browser cache and any 3rd party cache associated with your website.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

I have cleared cache and still get this error! So I am unsure what I am dealing with! Sorry to be a pain!

Also, interestingly enough! When I was in town a bit ago, I was in fact able to pull it up on my phone BUT Yoast SEO wasn’t working … the whole thing was working just fine two days ago, and Im sure its something simple I did that blew it all up BUT hopefully we can figure it out! Ive come to rely on these tools to make my job easier!

Hi Patty,

It is hard for us to determine the issue because we can’t replicate it when accessing your website. You can check the screenshot below for confirmation that we are able to access it properly.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Do you know of any reason why everyone in our office has the issue on different computers but when we are away it works… I.e. when I went to town and when you access it from afar?

Also thanks for trying to help! I appreciate it!

Hello Patty,

I am another staff checking out this thread. I am also not able to replicate the issue on my browser. I can easily load the Pro Editor or the classic editor. I have a hunch that a certain browser extension could be causing this issue on your end. Please try to download Brave browser, do not install any browser extensions and test your site again.

Kindly let us know how it goes.

brave browser works! its so strong because the issue occurred on a Mac and a pc and a phone. on different browsers! but it works this way so yay

thanks

You are welcome @theglobalsportsman

Hello there! Its me again! Soooo Brave browser worked. I only used it for Wordpress editing . No problems for 3 days and NOW it isn’t working again. I am just at a complete loss! Any suggestions?

I can clear my cache and it works, but only temporarily

Hey Patty,

Have you tried using the private browsing mode? Most of the time, the browser will cache the page. It will work for several times and then because of caching, it will no longer work which means that it is time to clear the browser cache again. If you use private browsing mode, the browser will be forced to fetch the page and not relying on the browser cache.

Hope this helps.

While I seem to have at least found a work around for editing posts, I now appear to be unable to access cornerstone. Can you tell me if you are having the same issue? And if so, what might be the solution? I am so sorry to be such a pain. I have never had these kinds of issues!

Hello Patty,

Which browser are you using? I have tested your site on Brave, MS Edge, and Opera. Both the WP Editor and the Cornerstone is working for me. What page are you editing by the way?

Please remove or temporarily disable any browser extensions that you have and test your site again.

I am using brave browser, trying to edit any page, but in this screen shot I was editing benefits of camp. And cornerstone will not open. It is a black screen with a spinning progress bar that never clears. Extensions all turned off.

Hello Patty,

I can replicate the issue at my end. It might be an issue with the PHP version. Please contact your hosting provider and update the PHP version 7.4 or plus as per our version compatibility page. It is also recommended by WordPress as well, please have a look at this article.

I would suggest you follow the below steps while updating to the latest version of the theme.

  1. Delete the Cornerstone
  2. Update the X theme to the latest version on automatic updates
  3. After the X theme is updated, use the link in the dashboard to automatically install the Cornerstone. It will be at the latest version.

I would also suggest you troubleshot a few common issues on this.

1.Plugin Conflict
2.Theme Update related issue
3.Child Theme Related issue
4.CSS/JS Customization

If that does not help, please copy your live site to a staging server so we could troubleshoot freely without breaking your live site so please share your login credentials of the staging server with FPT details as well in the secure note.

Thanks

So I have checked everything that I can short of updating my php (my host says it’ll be 1 month before that happens for me.

Hi Patty,

If the issue did not completely resolve with Clearing cache and Deactivating the browser extensions. It could be something on your network base on this information:

Contact your network administrator and see if a firewall is blocking something on the site or a local network caching feature needs to be clear.

Another thing, an antivirus could be a possible culprit as well.

I tested the site on my end as well, and I did not encounter issues opening the WordPress editor and Cornerstone’s Page Builder.

Thanks,
