Pro Editor - After couple of changes, server goes down - 502 Error

Hi there,

http://rubin.ethermedia.hu/ - I have a staging site setup here, and I’m trying to make some updates through the pro editor. However, after about 10 minutes of doing small css changes, the server always dies.

I have a bunch of sites on Siteground and have not experienced this before, so I don’t think it’s a server issue. Maybe a server settings issue.

I have memory, post size, execution time and the usual razed (512mb, 256mb, 180)
What else can cause this?

Hi @Pbalazs89,

Thank you for reaching out to us. A 502 bad gateway error is usually due to an issue with the web host. There could be many reasons for example this could be an issue with your firewall or CDN if using, try disabling the firewall or CDN temporarily and see if this resolves the issue.

Also it could be a shared hosting issue, as a lot of hosts, especially shared hosts terminates a request after a certain period of time so that it doesn’t take a site down or impact other users thus returning this error code.

Mod_security could also be the reason of the error, contact your hosting service provider and ask them to exclude the mod_security rules from the domain of your website.

If the issue persists then please try following the troubleshooting guide here https://theme.co/docs/common-issues or you could try out https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-502-bad-gateway-error-in-wordpress/

Let us know how this goes!
