PRO / E&P Form / No EMail check / Order not transferred

Hi there,

some problems, that probably belong to each other:

1.) In my order form, there is an e-mail-field (textfield, type “email”). It is possible, to enter invalid emails (containing a “,”) without getting any error message. What can I (or you?) do, to get a correct email validation, so that no invalid adresses can be used? It’s not possible to send the form with a wrong phone number, this is what I expected with mail-adresses …

2.) An order with an invalid (customer) email-adress is not send to the admin-adress. If i look at the details in the WP-Backend and start a new mail from there, it is send. What can I (or you) do, to have orders with invalid mailadresses transferred to the admin adress?

3.) Since one of the last updates, the final button in the last step is shown twice, the first one without, the second one with an “check” icon in front of it. Both seem to have the same function. What can I (or you) do, to get rid of the second button?

Upon checking, the email validation works.

Issue #3 though is kind of weird because I couldn’t replicate it in my test site. Would you mind exporting your form and upload it to Dropbox or similar service so we could test the form in our test site?

If you add a dot to your mail-adress, it is shown as valid, even if it contains a comma.
Testing with dfg@sad,sd I get the same error-message,
testing with dfg@sad,sd.de the form is sent

Thanks for providing more details. I was able to replicate what you’ve just described and submitted this to our issue tracker.

Regarding the duplicated buttons, something’s broken inside either or both the 2 steps in the screenshot below:

It could be something in the Global Block

Please check the content of the steps I referred to because without them, the duplicate button does not exist.

thank you for these infos.

Concerning the buttons: I did remove the global block in the marked stept, but the problem still exists.
I did not change the global blocks or the form for several weeks, but the duplicate button appeared a few days ago, so I guess it could be caused by the last update of pro and / or the E&P form plugin.

Concerning the mail-check: Good to know, that you could reproduce the bug. So I hope there will be an update soon. If orders do not arrive without any notice, a lot of mony can be lost …

You’re welcome, Uli. There might have been corruption of data. Regretfully, you will need to rebuild the corrupted steps.

Can you confirm, that this will solve the problem? Wich steps exactly do I have to rebuild?

Rebuilding meens a lot of inconvenience, doing backups, taking the tool offline for a while, testing everything after the rebuild (including all the payment-stuff), discussing this with our customer, discussing who will pay for it etc.

I don’t want to do all this without beeing shure it will fix the problem …

Hi Uli,

Christian means you have to re-do the steps in your form (like deleting them and re-add). You could also just create a new form and re-build it there without deleting the current one. This will also help the troubleshooting as it could be use for comparison.

And we’re not sure the extent of data corruption so the rebuild is just a recommendation. It’s the first step in narrowing the issue as we can’t reproduce the button issue on our end too.
