PRO: Contact Form 7 error (not submitting)

Hi,

I have two sites on PRO that the contact form has stopped working on. The sites that are running X seem to be fine.

Here’s the one I’m testing with: https://jg-marketing.com/contact-me/

I’ve tried reverting to a backup of the site from Apr 1, that doesn’t fix it. That version of the site is running v4.2.3. I’m restoring back to the latest version with all pending updates applied.

I’ve contacted my web host (Flywheel) and they reported the error below.

[14-Apr-2021 23:02:39] WARNING: [pool site-deniseguerringue.com] child 150 said into stderr: “NOTICE: PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function x_get_view() in /www/wp-content/themes/pro/index.php:16”

Can you check into this and see if this could be stopping my contact form submits from working?

Thanks for writing in!

Please make sure that your SMTP or WP_Mail() is working. You may need to run a test and send a test mail.
Also, make sure that you have set it up correctly.:

Be advised that the Contact Form 7 plugin is a 3rd party plugin. You may need further assistance from the plugin creator.

It actually seems that Google Recaptcha with ContactForm 7 is not working, at least not with PRO.

Pretty sure some of my X sites are also using this Integration and it is working fine.

Not solved: why is this only happening with Pro and not my sites with X?

If you are not able to identify the issue with Pro, is there a way for me to convert back to X?

Hi Jon,

Would you mind sharing your admin credentials so that we can check your contact form 7 settings? To do that, please give us the following information in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin level username and password

I’ve added a secure note to this thread.

I’ve given access to the site running PRO theme. This is one of the sites that I had to disable the reCAPTCHA v3 integration with ContactForm 7 because the integration was causing an error during submit. Now, of course, I’m getting lots of spam.

I have other sites with the same setup: ContactForm and reCAPTCHA v3 running with X theme that are working just fine. Examples: https://hmssny.org/ https://evolvinghealingarts.com/

Let me know if you need access to one of the X-based sites to compare.

Hey Jon,

In order for us to investigate, we need that you activate Recaptcha V3. If you can’t do that because it will affect your live site, please copy your live site to a staging server and give us the staging URL.

Right now, the cause of the issue is also not confirmed if it’s really Pro. Please perform the following troubleshooting steps which will prove if Pro is the cause of the issue.

  1. Testing For Theme Related Issue
  2. Testing For Plugin Conflict

Once proven, please try reinstalling Pro by downloading a fresh copy from your dashboard here https://theme.co/account/dashboard and completely deleting the current Pro theme in your site and install the fresh copy.

If the issue persists, we’ll continue the investigation.

Okay, thanks. I will copy to a staging server and share the new URL. I will also preform the other tests and let you know the result.

This issue is resolved. Not sure why or how but the form submits are going through now with reCAPTCHA v3 enabled again.
