Pro: Body copy fonts not picking up global color set in Theme Options

Body Copy font not picking up color as specified in the Theme Options; the Headings do.
• Not using any custom js
• Have removed all css as a double check and it made no difference
• Using Pro1.2.3, with Child Theme running on PPH 7.0 (also tried 7.1)
• Clean install, checked it even with no plugins running at all.

Hi There,

Thank you for writing in, that is because the Advance (V2) Text element has its own Text Color option (https://prnt.sc/gz7uua). Unlike the Classic Text element, It is not dependent to the Body Font Color option.

Hope this shed some lights,
Cheers!

I am fighting with pro and the updates, too. things are getting really confusing lately i must say. This one is a nice example i was struggeling with, too.

Thanks, yeah I gathered that once I got going. So it seems the most efficient and sensible process for non-classic text specification, is to specify the color as a specific text template colour called ‘body copy global’ so if you need to change across the site you could just change it in one place, and one time, rather than having to change it everywhere, which would clearly be a big problem if you have used the colour for other non text elements. Fine once you know, as this will require being added to the pre planning and set up procedure.

Hi There,

Yes, you got that right. Actually I have open this up to our Dev Team if we could make the color that set on the Body Font Color will be the V2 Text element’s default color. They discussed about it, but it’s beyond what’s technically possible right now.

Cheers!

This is a real shame. As Karen says, if we want to update a colour scheme on a site we are left with having to go through each text element individually and update. I might just stick with the original ‘classic text’ as this works, even if it doesn’t have the bells and whistles of V2.

Hi There,

Not really if you utilize the Templates > Colors, setup all the colors you need first, the color that you’re going to use for text, links, etc. This colors will show on the color picker (like a palette), use this colors thru out the site. And when you decide to update the colour scheme you just need to go back to Templates > Colors and re-set those colors. Same thing for the Fonts.

Cheers,

Hi, think that is what i suggested above :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, it is. I’ve just explained it in a plain manner

Have a nice day,
Cheers!

If you just delete the code, or hit the reset arrow, in the Text Color box under Text Style it will default to the Theme Body Text Color. The way it is now it is preset to rgb(0,0,0) when it is added. Shouldn’t be too hard for the team to just leave the attribute blank as default.

@mikewolf1127 Agreed! This can’t be too difficult.

Also, another feature request, I know the presets are coming down the pipeline, and currently we only have X Stack presets for some of the new elements, but it’s still very annoying that the text content of the new Text element gets overwritten if you switch to a different preset. The actual text content should not be part of the preset, only the styles/options should be effected, right?

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. We added this as a feature request, there are technical hurdles regarding this as those options are too interconnected and the change may affect cases that do not have a theme preset color and that may cause problems. But anyway the report is added and if our development team see it fit they will implement this for sure.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Thank you for your feedback. We added this as a feature request in our internal system. If our development team see it fit they will implement the feature in the upcoming releases.

Thank you for taking time and giving your feedback.
