I’ve built about 10 sites now using X-pro; six are live. It came up in conversation with another developer that Themes (in general) make a website slower, because they have so many options available that the site is burdened with a lot of code that may never be used, but still has to be processed. I am curious on your thoughts regarding this.
Hi @mcaravaglia,
Thanks for reaching out!
We follow WordPress best practices in Pro and it is fully optimized. There are a lot of factors that come with site performance ( images, plugins, server specs, etc ).
Follow some of the tips provided below to improve your site performance.
Hope that helps.
Thanks for your reply. Yes, I am aware of other factors and best-practices for optimization. I actually did a little experiment with an extremely “light theme” and then replicated my Home page using Wordpress Blocks with html and css only. The full site, (4 pages) I built using Pro loaded just as fast as the light version containing only a single page.
I really like working with Pro and the updated version (5.x) has added some great enhancements. I was hesitant, at first, because you have to look for things that were moved and I didn’t like the black background (changed from white) in the dashboard. Now that I’ve gotten used to working with 5.x, I love it. Keep up the awesome work!
