PRO and SiteGround Optimizer Conflict

So I use this combination for at least 30 sites I manage, and the recent updates have caused some issues. With 4.0.8 I had to turn off Minify CSS Files, Combine CSS Files, Combine JavaScript Files, and Minify JavaScript Files, just get get things looking normal again. The only problem is I lose a ton of page speed because of it. If I have them on, images won’t display and header elements become misaligned. I just updated to the 4.0.9 on one site, and I was able to turn them all back on except Minify JavaScript Files and Minify CSS Files.

I’m just wondering if you’re aware of this issue, and if you’re planning to do anything about it. This isn’t just some conflict I can easily find an alternative for.

Just as a heads up, the X/Pro theme is already minified, so minifying it again can create problems and is unnecessary

Hello Ken,

Thanks for writing in! Please always keep in mind that after EVERY theme and plugin updates, you will NEED to clear all the caches and REGENERATE the minified files so that the latest code of the theme update 4.0.8 will be loaded by SiteGround Optimizer plugin and not the OLD cached and minified file resources from the previous version of the theme or plugin.

Please date to the latest version Pro 4.0.10 and follow these steps:

  • Clear all your caches.
  • Temporarily deactivate your caching/minify plugin.
  • Update your theme to Pro 4.0.10
  • Activate the caching/minify plugin again.

If needed you can clear and regenerate the cache just to make 100% the latest codes from the latest updates will be loaded.

Hope this helps.
