Pro always errors out saying plugin or aggressive cache issue

So when I’m in Pro trying to edit a page, 70% of the time Pro won’t load and gives me an error message that there may be a plugin conflict or an aggressive cache issue

I’ve tried disabling plugins and I just can’t seem to pin point what is causing this super frustrating situation.

Thanks for writing in!

Are you experiencing this issue intermittently? I would recommend that you turn off any caching plugin temporarily. Caching are best to turn ON when you are finished with the site and ready to go live. And please make sure that you have set up SSL correctly. Double check Settings > SSL and make sure that everything is in place.

Yes my SSL is setup correctly.

I experience intermittently, but often.

How can I tell which plugins have caching that I need to turn off while editing the site?

Hi John,

You can go to Admin > Plugins and you should see the plugins related to cache. Then you can also contact your hosting provider to see if they have an active but hidden cache feature that you may need to disable. Most hosting providers now implement their cache optimization features too.

As initial checking, it’s hosting’s built-in endurance cache. And since it’s now turned off, the builder loads okay (tested 10 times).

Ok so I didn’t see any plugins that referenced any Cache, so you’re saying it was all being handled by the hosting’s built-in endurance cache?

How were you able to turn it off? Where was this feature at and what is really the purpose of it?

Hey John,

To your questions:

Yes. Built-in caching features are quite common in popular web hosts.

The login credentials you’ve given don’t work now so I could not answer where to turn it off since I couldn’t replicate what Rad did. It’s best that you contact your web host regarding that though because we’re generally not familiar with interfaces outside our products.

Regarding the purpose of caching, please read the official documentation of WordPress: https://wordpress.org/support/article/optimization-caching/. Endurance is just a brand but its purpose is the same as any other caching system.
