Pro 6 Beta 4 - Import a Templates

So not sure what is up. Am I missing something, having a blonde moment? How do we import templates created in another site into a new site?

I have a new site for fiddling with the beta. I have a .tco I created in another site.

How do I import the .tco?

.tco imports and exports are broken currently, but will be fixed in the next release. You can check by looking at the binary of the .tco and removing anything before PK (zip file definition header).

However you should be seeing themeco templates. Are you getting errors in the console?

I can’t even find the place where I can click import…

I picked up an issue in a pro 5 site and wanted to see if the issue was also present in pro 6.

Do you have a staging site I could access?

Thanks.

The other thing that is a bit odd is saving templates. I saved a headline as a template.

In my Library I have “You are working on a Page. Only compatible templates are shown.” I do not see my “headline” template item I created. It is of course in the element window but I would expect to find it in the templates section of the inspector.

This site was a fresh install to just fiddle with components.

I have added some login details.

Thanks, I noticed the headline test is in the template manager now. Did you have to change or do anything to get that to show up?

Just for clarity there are two things going on:

  1. Ability to import / export
  2. Usability of created templates / library items

Ability to import / export

I get that you say importing is broken but currently the import / export buttons don’t exist.

Usability of created templates / library items

I think you misunderstand, the headline appears in the template manager after I click “Manage Library” but not in the library inspector panel. I would expect my templates to be easily accessible from the library inspector.

@urchindesign, and “Import” button is being added into the header of the Template Library like there was in older versions, it was omitted during the UI shuffle but is being put back in. You can also drag in a .tco file and an import modal will appear.

We have also cleaned up the exporting functionality. You can export anything by going into the Library and clicking the “…” button on it, which will give the ability to download just that .tco file, and if you go to the table layout you can do multiple selections if needed with the checkboxes on the left (there were some bugs here, but we cleaned them up on this latest round).
