Since upgrading to 6.4.1, my dropdown menus show up horizontally instead of in a column. Is one of my settings the problem or is it a bug? Thanks for looking into it.
I will add a secure note giving you access to the site.
Patrick
Hello Patrick,
Thanks for the very detailed post information.
You need to set a width for your Dropdown element and also for each of your Button elements to at least 100%
.
Best Regards.
Thank you for your quick reply. This fixes the problem, kind of… I still think there is a problem in 6.4.1.
After some more investigation, I think the problem is not the width setting. It is the fact that in 6.4.1, buttons are no longer arranged vertically in the dropdown. Other elements such as text or headlines, are arranged vertically under each other. This is why the AUTO width setting works with these elements, but not if you have only buttons in the dropdown. This is annoying, especially when the buttons have dynamic content and the size of it can vary.
Something must have changed as there were changes made in buttons for the SVG graphics.
I added a couple of extra dropdowns for testing to show you what I mean. You still have access to the staging site with the same credentials I gave you before. Can you please check it out.
Hey Patrick,
Please update to Pro 6.4.2 as there are bug fixes possibly related to your concerns. After the update, please go to Cornerstone > Settings and clear the System Cache
Hi,
Yes, the behavior has changed. But we are not there yet.
Check out the TEST dropdowns I added in the top bar.
I set both the Dropdown width and the Buttons width on auto, which worked perfectly before 6.4. Here is what happens now:
- TEST 1A: Only 1 button in the dropdown. Works right.
- TEST 1B: 3 buttons. The buttons are now arranged in a column (in 6.4.1 they appeared in a row), but the dropdown width has increased. It looks like the width is what would be needed to put all the buttons in a row instead of a column. If you check out the Admin dropdown, which has even more buttons, you will see what I mean.
- TEST 2: 2 buttons and additional content (Headlines and Text). The auto width is correct, but the buttons (and only the buttons) show up in a row instead of under each other.
I hope this helps you figure out how to fix this, or finding out what I did wrong
Patrick
Hey Patrick,
I am not quite sure if we understand your issue correctly. Would you mind sharing a video describing all the issues you’ve found? There’s also a new update, please try to update your theme to the latest version and let see if it fixes your current issues.
Thank you.
Problem fixed in 6.4.5!
Thanks.
Hi Patrick,
