When copying and pasting image styles the “Object Fit” is not copied across. So if you copy and paste an image that has an “Object Fit” like cover. The image you paste the styles onto remains as the default “Object Fit” setting.

It is pretty straight forward.
Create an image, set various styling settings on the image. Make sure to set the “Object Fit” to cover.
Add a new image to the page, set the source of the image .
Copy the first image and then paste the styles onto the new image.
You will see when you paste the styles the new image has the object fit as “fill” and not cover.

I have followed the steps you explain and found that the Object Fit value is not copied correctly in the new image if you use the Paste Style option. I will check that with our development team and will add it to the issue tracker.
Alternately, you can copy and paste the copied image, and then change the image in the new one.
