Pro 2.1.3 problems with V2 text - correct in preview window wrong in browser

Hi,

I wonder if you can help me please?

I have successfully updated all but one of my websites to Pro 2.1.3. The problem I am facing is that the V2 text elements in Pro are not rendering in the browser window as set/seen in Cornerstone. I’ve begun a dev site to show the problem and deactivated auto update for the theme to preserve the original site which is on 2.0.4.

The site as it should look is here: https://millhill-hs.org.uk
Dev site updated to Pro 2.1.3 home page is here: https://mhhs.kc-designs.co.uk/

I’ll provide login credentials for the dev site in a secure note below.

Thanks for your time.

Ken

Hello Ken,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully the given user credentials has a limited privileges. It seems that it is a subscriber. Somehow we cannot edit a page or post even if we create a test page.

Please edit the role of the given user credentials and change to an “Administrator”.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Rue,

Sorry about that - I had given temporary Admin permissions but for some reason this hadn’t worked in providing you with the correct settings - I’ve now updated the account to full Admin.

Ken

BTW all of the settings like padding / margins are not working on this site either.

Hey @KenCope,

It has something to do with broken CSS code in your header. I removed it and CSS is generated for the text elements. See https://mhhs.kc-designs.co.uk/x-support-test/. Please check your Header CSS for syntax errors.

Thanks.

I also checked the case and went to Pro > Settings and clicked on the Clear Style Cache button and it fixed the problem.

Thank you.

Thanks Christian_y,

Yes, I can see it is fixed on the dev site, but what exactly did you do please as I don’t understand your reply? If I understood I would be able to replicate on the original site which gets broken with the update to 2.1.3.

Something I don’t understand is that this is exactly the same header that is working in 2.0.4 - what changes have there been to Pro that produces this? It’s only this one of my sites, all others are okay but everything has been built with the Header builder and no extra coding has been added.

Thanks,

Ken

Hey Ken,

####1. I edited your header.

####2. Went to Header CSS and removed your CSS.

Some update in CSS processing and/or optimization might have caused this but it is still best to check your Header CSS for syntax errors.

Thanks.

Hi Christian_y,
Thanks - I understand now! :sunglasses:
Ken

I’ve deleted the css from the header of the live site, updated to Pro 2.1.3 and all is working as expected - Thanks for your help
