Preview Not Loading (cacheing)

Yesterday, I followed Adam G’s advice on this post to optimize performance in X theme

It seemed to have worked fine yesterday, but today, I can’t get a cornerstone preview.
I was getting the ‘aggressive cacheing’ message, but now I’m not getting any message at all.

I deleted cache and deactivated WP Super Cache.
I deactivated the other plugins in his instructions - autoptimize, and ewww image optimizer.
(I think) I disabled cloudflare CDN caching.
I increased the ‘WP_MEMORY_LIMIT’ , and then went back to the original.

Again, I was getting the ‘aggressive cacheing’ message, and now no message at all, and no preview.

Hi there,

I have checked your site and your Cornerstone installation is updated to the latest version but your X version is not.

This is most probably what is causing an incompatibility issue that stops your Cornerstone pages to load.

Please update X from version 6.0.4 to 6.1.6 then clear your cache after updating.
