Preventing modal from collapsing accordion

I have inserted content into an accordion using a Global Block. One element of the content is a toggle button for a modal. How can I prevent the accordion from collapsing each time I toggle the modal? Thanks

Thanks for writing in!

The accordion element has no control over any other elements. The Accordion element should not collapse when you click the toggle icon inside it. I have tested this in my local install:
