Pre-sort portfolio

Hi there,

I am using pro with the Integrity stack. Our website is split into two parts, and I would therefore like to have two portfolio pages: one standard, where all our projects are shown and the visitor can then choose to filter the projects, and one where the portfolio is pre-sorted to a single category, but with the possibility to see all other categories once the visitor clicks different filters.

Is it possible to pre-sort the portfolio? I do not want a page with only one category, I need all other projects to still be there, and I do not want the original portfolio page to also be pre-sorted.

Hope you can help! Thanks

Sandra

Hello @ki_admin,

Thanks for writing to us.

Since you are a Pro user, you can achieve it through the layout builder. Please follow these steps.

  1. Create an archive layout for the Pfortfolio and assign it to the Portfolio category. It would display the portfolio item of the category that you view.

Structure

I am using the default layout template

Assign the Layout

  1. Now we would list the Portfolio category on this layout. For this, we need to run another looper and set the looper provider as All Terms and Taxonomy as Portfolio Category

portfolio-Layouts-Pro
3. Use Headline element or Text element to display the name of Portfolio Category and use dynamic shortcode {{dc:term:name}}

portfolio-Layouts-Pro

Link it through the Dynamic content code

Hope it helps
Thanks

Thanks for the fast reply. I will have to update the theme first, since my builder looks nothing like this  I will get back to you once I’ve tried it out.

Hi Sandra,

Great, please let us know if you need any further assistance with this.

Thanks

Hi again!

I’ve looked through your suggestion more thoroughly now, but I do not think it would achieve what I am trying to do. Just to be clear, I do not want a page showing only one portfolio category. I want a regular portfolio page, but with one of the sort buttons “pre-pressed” like in the image below:

Is this somehow possible?

Hi Sandra,

Regretfully, there is no such option to preselect any of the Portfolio categories. What you are expecting is required customization, I would suggest you hire a developer who can assist you to do the customization or you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where the customization questions are answered.

Thanks

Hi again,

Thanks for the reply. I knew there was a chance this would be out of scope, but it doesn’t hurt to try  I will find someone to help me out.

Hi Sandra,

You are most welcome. Please let us know if you need any further help.

Thanks
