Potential bug: Google Maps API not pulling through with DC

Hi there,

In the map element, when the API key is pasted in the API field, the map works fine. When it pulls through from a dynamic field (from an ACF Options page for example) it says it is invalid.

I’ve just kept it in there ‘hardcoded’ for now but thought I’d flag it!

Hi @RubberDuckers,

Thanks for reaching out.
It will be very difficult to recognize the issue without investigating through the admin dashboard. Can you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– Specific page where you have added this
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

NOTE: Can you please add the same Dynamic Content tag into the Text element and check if that showing the same API key.

Thanks

Thanks - I don’t need it fixed as just putting the API key in there directly works fine (and it’s not like it needs changing often). Was just raising it as a bug as it’s definitely outputting the same key when put in a text field and it should be replaceable in any environment.

Hi @RubberDuckers,

I have tried the same in my local environment but it worked perfectly fine. I assume, that it might be some space or something else which is added to the ACF meta box and that is why it is not validating.

Thanks
