Posts getting de-indexed by google after recent updates

Hello, my site is https://www.bellafsm.com and I am running the most up to date versions of WP, X, Cornerstone, WTC3, and JetPack.

Starting around October 11, 2018 several of my post were de-indexed by google All of them are older post and not touched in a couple years:

An example post url is https://www.bellafsm.com/how-mobile-field-service-software-is-transforming-business-globally/

I cannot find any issues with the post other than a blocked script when I fetch in google:

I do now know if this is the issue since after the recent updates all of the post block this script when I fetch them in google. My concern is all of my post will eventually be de-indexed.

Can you please take a look and advise.

Thanks for writing in! Google indexing is completely out of our control. I did a little bit of research and found the following article. Could you please try going through the information there and implement solutions accordingly.

Hello,

Google indexing is very much in your control since the theme structure has a direct impact on indexing. Every time there is an update to X or Cornerstone my rankings and traffic jump all over the place.

I am very familiar with the information in the article you suggested. It is not the issue. My entire website has not been de-indexed, only a handful of post since all the updates to X and Cornerstone occurred over the past two months.

Why is the facebook script being blocked on my posts now? That never happened before the recent updates. Can that be causing it?

Are you able to see anything wrong with the example post url that I provided which would cause it to get de-indexed?

Please advise.

Hello John,

In the latest release of the theme, there is nothing change in the content structure nor how the way the post content structure is displayed. All were still intact and not change. I do not believe that the theme has something to do with. If you want to check out what has been changed, remove or added in the theme, I would recommend that you check out our changelog here: https://theme.co/changelog/

Meanwhile, facebook script is definitely not coming from the theme either. We do not have any of those scripts. I am suspecting that your Share This plugin may have contributed to this issue. You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

And by the way, always remember that after doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using a caching plugin like WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors. You will also need to regenerate your JS/CSS if you have minified them.
