As of last week, when the X-Child is active our posts display only white space…no content. This happens using Chrome but not Edge. If I deactivate X-Child (X is still active) the posts do display the content. There is no problem with pages just with posts. Deactivating all plug-ins does not fix the problem. All plug-ins and themes are up-to-date. Our hosting service is Blue Host. Your support to resolve this issue is much appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for writing in! Based on the information above, it seems that you have added a modifications to the single post templates which is added in your Child Theme. You may be using a legacy child theme. Please check your template modifications and make sure that you have place it in the correct folders.

It is best that you create a WP user for us with an Administrative role so that we can check and investigate this issue. Yes, please do create a user and password using a dummy email address. You can send the WP details in a secure note so that only you and our staff can see it. Once we have it, we can log in and check your site settings and your child theme to figure out why the post are not displaying it’s contents.
By the way, have you done troubleshooting with the most common issues? A 3rd party plugin or a custom PHP code could be causing the issue too.

Thanks for your reply. We have not knowingly modified our templates nor do we believe we are using a legacy child theme. Therefore we would appreciate further support in understanding your reply (above) and in fixing the problem. We also don’t understand what credentials you are requesting. Do you want me to create a (new) user ID and PW with an Administrator role for your use?

Please note that the described problem exists only if X-Child is active.
The X Child inherits all the features and functionalities of the parent theme. You usually use a child theme when you want to modify some of the functionalities or add more to it by adding some codes in the child theme’s functions.php file or even include template overrides. The default X child theme only consists of 3 files, that is the screenshot.png, style.css and the functions.php file.
This is the contents of the style.css:

Yes, those are the latest supported versions except the PHP 8.0. Could you please downgrade your PHP version to 7.4 and test your site again.
