Post Types do not show in Custom Headers

Hello

I am following up on this thread:

Unable to add pages to header

I have created a new custom post type and I am unable to select it as it starts with an “S” and the search runs out of room before it can see that post type. How can I force this post type to use a custom header? This is really important to get done for my site. Based on the previous thread I understand that it is limited to a 1000 items and I have many more.

Is there a way to hide the other posts so I can assign the header then unhide them? Or some other way to make this work? Once the Post Type is selected in the header it will work fine going forward. The suggestion in previous post only seems to disable posts…

Can someone help sort this out?

Okay I found the work around here:

Can't assign headers to pages with pro

It does just filter the posts out of view but keeps the assignments so thats good!
