Post title above featured image

Hi

I’m using the ethos stack and I would like my posts to display the post titles above the featured image, like this example: Example Post

My posts displays the post title below the featured image.

Please advise, thanks.

Hi there,

Copy content.php file from wp-content\themes\x\framework\views\ethos and put it in the same path inside child theme, Now replace existing code with this:

<?php

// =============================================================================
// VIEWS/ETHOS/CONTENT.PHP
// -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
// Standard post output for Ethos.
// =============================================================================

$is_index_featured_layout = get_post_meta( get_the_ID(), '_x_ethos_index_featured_post_layout',  true ) == 'on' && ! is_single();

?>

<article id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>" <?php post_class(); ?>>
  <?php x_get_view( 'ethos', '_content', 'post-header' ); ?>
  <?php if ( $is_index_featured_layout ) : ?>
    <?php x_ethos_featured_index(); ?>
  <?php else : ?>
    <?php if ( has_post_thumbnail() ) : ?>
      <div class="entry-featured">
        <?php if ( ! is_single() ) : ?>
          <?php x_ethos_featured_index(); ?>
        <?php else : ?>
          <?php x_featured_image(); ?>
        <?php endif; ?>
      </div>
    <?php endif; ?>
    <div class="entry-wrap">

      <?php x_get_view( 'global', '_content' ); ?>
    </div>
  <?php endif; ?>
</article>

Please add the following CSS under Customize -> Custom -> CSS :

header.entry-header {
  height: 95px;
}

Hope that helps.

Hi - I did exactly as instructed but no luck.

Hi There,

In that case, please share your site URL so we can check your setup. We might need wordpress and FTP credentials. Please share those information on a secure note. Before that, in case you have caching, please try to clear cache and check again. This is just to make sure you are not seeing a cache content. Thank you.

Thanks but I’ve fixed this problem on my own.

For those of you who may come across this problem in the future with no luck - try this method instead:

Paste the below into your Additional CSS box:

.single-post .entry-featured {
display: none;
}

That should remove the featured image from the actual post. Then just use the same image and insert it to your actual post body and take it all the way to the top of your post and center align. Click publish and you’re done :slight_smile:

Cheers

Thanks for sharing your solution.

Cheers!
