I created a layout for FAQ single and assigned to a specific FAQ type. When a user clicks on previous and next navigation, it is also bringing in other FAQ types, why is this happening when I have the layout assigned to only the type I want to include? I was building out other layouts for other FAQ types so that each had a unique layout so that previous/next would not include other FAQ category types.

The Post Navigation cycles through ALL posts regardless of tag or category.
What you need is a custom post navigation. Regretfully, that would require custom development that is outside the scope of our theme support.
What I can do is add this case as a feature request so our development team will see this and decide if options for the Post Navigation can be added.
