Post excerpt doesn't show

Hi people,
I want to show post excerpts combined with the shortcode [recent_posts type=“post” enable_excerpt=“true” count=“3” orientation=“horizontal” category=“whatever”] in Xtheme. I used your suggested php-code (in older and newer support articles), combined with shortcode and checked the ‘excerpt’-box in WordPress, put some excerpt in the posts, but nothing shows. Can you please suggest something helpful? Thanks. Lisa
