Portrait / Landscape WooCommerce Shop Display

Hi Team X,
I am working on a website http://robertrossfineart.com. In the shop gallery page I can’t seem to get it to display both portrait and landscape thumbnails. Because he is an artist, his works are both layouts I need to have both as well.

I looked through the support and tried the most relevant but it didn’t work.

I honestly don’t want to switch to one or the other, it must be both.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any additional feature when it comes to the thumbnails of the Woocommerce products.

You need to rely on the Woocommerce settings by going to Appearance > Customize and set a proper thumbnail size there for the products:

Then according the size that you selected which will fit your design you need to use a photo editing software to fit all the images to that size to make them look good for the size in question.

So there is no way to get thumbnails to display their actual shape in the shop gallery?

The woocommerce menu you refer to under appearance does not exist in my WordPress editor.

That’s a shame you do not support this. I have a few very prominent artists that would like to use your theme if you can get this issue fixed.

Is there a way you can create a custom fix that will allow these artists to use it?

Hi there,

I wonder if you are using the Woocommerce version 3.3.X ? Cause the menu item is there for that version. It is not available in older versions.

Also, make sure that you update the theme to version 6.0.2 and Cornerstone to version 3.0.2

It will be possible to have the thumbnails not cropped and show the original size. In the screenshot that I gave you to see that there is an option to avoid cropping the thumbnails.

But please be warned that it will mean that the thumbnails will be uneven as they might have different sizes.

Unfortunately, we can not give any customization regarding this and it is outside of our support scope.

I didn’t realize it could be that out of date, but I have auto update on? Weird…

They don’t mind if the box is uneven they just want to see the whole image.

I will try to do the updates and let you know if it fixed it.
