When we attempt to create a featured image of a portfolio item in X it disables the slider from working. It only displays one image and you can’t scroll through to the next. If you disable the featured image it works correctly, but then on the portfolio page the item has no image associated with it.
Hi There,
Thank you for writing in, but I can’t replicate the issue on my end. Please do a testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
If that does not work, please provide us the site URL so we can take a look.
Cheers!
Thanks, I disabled all plugins (except Cornerstone) but that didn’t make a difference.
The page is the following http://stage.brianvandevelde.ca/portfolio-item/revolution-inc-tees/
I have added in the images in the post and set the Media Type: Gallery and the Featured Content: Media
Thanks
Hi There,
It doesn’t scroll because there’s only 1 image on the slider.
To display portfolio feature image on the portfolio index page, and then slider on portfolio item see below settings:
Media Type is set to Gallery
Featured Content is set to Thumbnail
Set Featured image accordingly.
Then make sure that you have to upload multiple image on the portfolio. Uploading the image on the portfolio will attached this image on this portfolio item. That is where the slider is getting the image. If everything is already set and still not working, please share us credentials so we can double check.
We have always had 2 images in the editor but it’s not pulling them into the slider. According to the instructions that’s how you add them to the slider.
Hi There,
The image should be uploaded to the portfolio item. When you add it and you just select from already uploaded images on Media, it will not work. See this: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cb6veh2VFw
See how I upload it. That process will make the image attached to the portfolio item. After the upload, I did not click the Insert to post button on the lower right because we don’t need the image inside content area of the page which is the right part of portfolio item. The image should be attached on the portfolio item and not added on the content.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, that definitely helps. That isn’t very intuitive though if I already have images I’ve uploaded to use on the site and would like to use them in the portfolio.
Now, how would I update or remove an item from the portfolio?
Hi,
You can try this third party plugin to Unattach and Re-attach images to your portfolio items.
Hope that helps.
