Portfolio item not linking

We have seven portfolio items that we put into a simple post grid. (this was not easy but we figured it out).

But the first portfolio item doesn’t link to anything. It doesn’t matter which item is in the first spot, it doen’t link. Why?

Just watch: https://www.loom.com/share/b9343e96b8a44af8a0c6eac0682f2db8

Thanks in advance. Ignore my attitude in the video. I hate this theme and it shows.

Hi @steve907,

Thanks for reaching out.
It will be very difficult to recognize the issue by seeing the video. Can you please provide login credentials for your site in a secure note to examine it further, including:

– WordPress Site URL & Login URL
– Specific Page URL where you are having this issue
– WordPress Admin username/password

To create a secure note, click the key icon underneath any of your posts.

NOTE: It seems the website mentioned in the video is not listed in your Themeco Account, if it is not already listed with some other account please add that to get further support.

Thanks

This site was migrated from another developer. I believe the license is still valid. Though it is not in the Themeco dashboard (whatever that is).

So if it needs to be in the “dashboard” how do I get it there? Do I need another license?

Also, I have provided you credentials to the site. I am an admin but do not see “loops” ANYWHERE. But when I sign in as my client I can see them. Why is this? Is there some secret decoder ring I need? Very frustrating to spend two days trying to do a simple task that should take 2 minutes…

Hi @steve907,

I would suggest you ask your other developer to unlock the License to add it into your current account. On the other hand, I checked your issue with the Portfolio item links and found it linked with the specific items. I would suggest you check once by clearing all types of cache and in incognito/private mode of the browser and let us know if that resolved.

Thanks

OK. I will see if they will help me transfer the site to my dashboard. But the issue we are having still exists. The first item (the FIRST one) still links to nothing. All the others work, like you have shown, but the FIRST one does not link. I have switched the order to items from date to title and it doesn’t matter, whichever item is first does not link. Hope you can help. This one little thing is preventing the entire project from being complete.

Hello @steve907,

I have tested your site and I am also trying to replicate it on our testing server. It seems that it is only happening in your WP installation. This is what we have in our test server:
https://dev-xsupport.pantheonsite.io/portfolio-test/

Can you please re-install the X theme and Cornerstone plugin? If possible, may we also test for plugin conflict by enabling/disable each of the plugins?

Kindly let us know.

OK. I have reinstalled the theme. Though I I can’t find Cornerstone. I downloaded the full package from ThemeForest but Cornerstone is not in the package.

From what I can tell, it looks like an event calendar plugin conflict. I bet they are trying to use the same post-type category or something like that.

This is not worth troubleshooting for me. The client wants a redesign anyway. To many bugs on this site. So, we are just going to leave it as is. To much hassle to try to fix such a simple thing :frowning:

Though, I am interested in where the cornerstone plugin is. It is not in the full package I downloaded from Themeforest.

Thanks for your time and pateince.

Hey @steve907,

The easiest way to install Cornerstone is through X > Validation screen. Once you’re inside the Validation screen, on the top of the screen click on Click here to install and activate link (see screenshot)

Hope this helps!
