Currently in my portfolio page I am able to scroll through images but when I click exit the image stays up and does not allow scroll anymore. The only way to fix the issue is to refresh the page.

It seems to be caused by the version incompatibility of your X to Cornerstone version.
You have an updated version of Cornerstone but X is a version behind. Having this will result to some issues, possibly like the one you currently have on your site.
Please update your X version then clear your site’s cache and check again.
