I’m a bit confused not sure why you have portfolio and Posts. Which one do you use for the BLOG. and why do we have Porftolio when we can use the posts for our blog. I’m using posts for my blog posting but i also see a page for portfolio-item which im not using . I also see it indexed and picked up by Google but im not using the portfolio-item page.

By default, WordPress has posts. It will be the one which will be displayed chronologically in the blog index.
In X/Pro theme, we have integrated Portfolio to enable you to create portfolio items. This will be useful if you want showcase your works such as photography, paintings, services and more. If you do not have a portfolio or does not intend to use it, just leave it blank or make sure that there are no portfolio items.
