Pop up plugin appearing on every page and every load

Using a donation plugin called FundraiseUp with the code snippet in the settings “Head, Footer and Post Injections” to load throughout the website. It should load the donation pop up that happens on the first load but only once per session, not every page and every load, but instead it’s loading on every page and every refresh.

Any thoughts of why they’re loading every time rather than once per session?

FundraiseUp has the popup setting set to once per user session.

Hello @istoriaagency,

Thank you for the inquiry.

Unfortunately, we do not provide support for third-party plugins, as stated in our support policy. You can find the list of supported plugins here: https://theme.co/docs/version-compatibility.

We recommend reaching out to the plugin developer for further assistance, or check out our One service for extended email-based support.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

I explained the situation to Claude. It gave me this response, is this a common thing that occurs with cookies prior to going live?

WP Engine’s staging/development domains (like *.wpenginepowered.com ) are on the Public Suffix List, which prevents cookies from being set properly. This is a browser security feature.

The .wpenginepowered.com domain is treated like .com or .org by browsers - they won’t let scripts set cookies on these “public suffix” domains for security reasons.

This is actually a common issue with staging sites on various hosting platforms. Once you move to your own domain, the FundraiseUp popup should work perfectly.

Hey @istoriaagency,

I would highly recommend that you give a pause on the issue for the moment. Once you move to the final domain name of your site, you can get back and check with what Claude has mentioned in his reply.

Thank you for your understanding.
