Poor video quality using YouTube video with Revolution Slider and X-Pro Custom Header

Hi There! we are getting poor video quality with a YouTube video on the homepage used in the Revolution slider - X-Pro theme. The video quality is high, and is used in another site that is built with HTML not Wordpress. Looks great on the HTML site, put is pix-elated on the new site. We even tried different ( smaller in size) YouTube videos to see if it made any difference but it has not. Additionally we have tried a page with only the header loaded, and nothing else ( thought maybe the page load was to much and YouTube was taking awhile to load the video completely?)

Is this a known issue? Is there any way to compensate for this?

How did you add it to the slider? Please provide your admin login credentials in the secure note for further checking.

The one with poor quality has different URL when embedded. Example,

The parameter HD is already applied so it should be playing with high quality.

While in your other site where it’s playing with high quality, this is the URL https://www.youtube.com/embed/QYswaOqDbD0?iv_load_policy=3&modestbranding=0&autoplay=1&controls=0&showinfo=0&wmode=opaque&branding=0&autohide=0&rel=0&enablejsapi=1&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fboxwoodwinery.com&widgetid=1

And Youtube has no direct connection with the theme slider for it to be affected by any external changes. Unless, parameters are changed which aren’t this time.

Hi,

You can try adding &vq=hd1080 or &vq=hd720 in arguments youtube field in your video settings.

But it will only work if your video supports this quality.

Just to follow up - thanks for your recommendations - we determined that it was an issue with YouTube ultimately deciding the quality of the stream ( it is, after all a free service)
