(Poll) Who is your hosting provider?

I’ll bet A2 is in the lead of all the “Others”. They get my vote.

TransIP CentOS Virtual Private Server with Plesk Onyx Web Host Edition for quick and easy configuration.

Interesting poll results. My company has used about a half dozen hosting companies over the years with mixed results until we switched to WP Engine 3+ years ago. WP Engine has been SOOO much better than the other companies (which will remain nameless) in every regard. But especially customer service. My philosophy is always to work with specialists. If I needed brain surgery, I’d go to a brain surgeon, not a surgeon who does brains and boob jobs. WP Engine only does WordPress sites, as opposed to pretty much every other hosting company that does everything.

Just so you know, I have zero affiliation with WP Engine, other than being a very satisfied customer.

Cheers,
Craig

MediaTemple Managed VPS.

I’ve used them for years but have recently been considering a switch.

I need to get rid of Godaddy, poor support and my site has been down the last 3 nights!

Which one is best Siteground or HostGator?

I would rather go with the Others options as I am enjoying the services of Aekpani Networks. They are the best hosting provider in my town.

Siteground hands down over HostGator, but WP Engine is better than them all, imho.

My hosting is Sprin Host. Very inexpensive and good for Russia. Only -300 400 rubles a month. I wanted to go to you but dolor is expensive for us. And you do not have discounts for Russia. And I if I work with one that I do not betray already

WP Engine (and a personal site on GreenGeeks). I agree with a few others that WP Engine is leaps and bounds above any of the typical ‘shared hosting’ places, but also costs more money (well worth it, IMO). As others have said, the big deal is WordPress… they know WordPress inside-and-out. The tools and support are exceptional.

But, the biggest problem (price aside), is that their limited/priced metric is primarily traffic (‘page views’ which they have an interesting way to measure them which is a blend between Google Analytics and raw page-views). Higher traffic sites that don’t generate a lot of income run into troubles scaling with them due to costs.

Fortunately, I’ve yet to have to deal with that for any of my sites or clients, but I’ve heard stories. But, I think most people should be able to monetize their traffic enough to make being with them worth it in the end. Hosting isn’t something you want to cheap out on, and unfortunately, too many people have $3.99/mo hosting in their heads. :frowning:

I’ve also self-hosted on a friends super-fast server for many years until he decided to take it down. We had SSD storage and a few sites on a quad-xenon workstation like server with gobs or RAM. The problem was becoming network admin, optimization specialist (which raw power can somewhat overcome!), security expert, etc. As I always joke with people… if you have 5 or 6, six-figure+ geeks at your disposal, then by all means, self-host.

I have clients on A2Hosting and GreenGeeks. Both are great hosts!

We use KnownHost managed dedicated server, service is impeccable.

Does anyone here use TSO host? UK based? I’m considering moving a few clients over but would like to hear some reviews first.

TSOHost in the UK

Hey,

I’ve been with them since January. Their support is excellent - the live chat facility solves 90% of issues there and then, however worth noting there have not been too many issues to resolve in the first place. I use their Cloud Web Hosting package, paying about £12 a month for 20 or so websites - even their cheapest option was too much for me at the time as I only had a few sites, so they gave me a custom quote which has worked out well.

The only issues I have encountered is one time their cloud platform was down for all websites beginning with ‘B’… first time I’d ever heard of such an issue but it was sod’s law being called Bad Wolf Productions…

So yeah, I’ve had a good experience in the 9-10 months of being a customer!

Thanks
M

Hi!
Sounds brilliant! And much cheaper than I’m paying at the moment. Fabulous that you can get 20 site on a single package - just what I’m after. I’ll check it out some more.
Thanks.
