Modern Events Calendar has been updated several times since the version included in Pro. The “current” version in Pro is almost 5 months old. Some of the recent updates in MEC are supposed to address issues I am having. Is there any estimated timeline for this and other plugin updates?

We don’t have any estimated timeline for updating our bundled plugin. Just want to let you know that before we update our bundled plugin, we test it first if its compatible with our latest version. I’ll raise your issue in our tracker so that it will be taken into action.

Thanks, but I really need to get an updated version and it doesn’t sound like it’s coming any time soon. What would happen if I delete the version of MEC currently installed and then install MEC from their website?

The data of MEC is stored in the database, once you delete the plugin and install a new one, your data is still there. The risk of installing a plugin directly from their website is that we haven’t tested that version yet on our current version and there might be conflicts or issues but you can try it, just use a staging area so that your live website will not break anything.
