Plugin/theme error after recent WP update to 4.8.2?

Hi. My Wordpress version was upgraded recently to 4.8.2. All appears to be working (so far) except for the WP full Calendar plugin. After deactivating all plugins and switching themes (from pro child to wp 2016) it appears that the conflict is due to my pro child theme.

The WP Full calendar shortcode on this page https://mysalus.org/community/#tab-2 won’t load and just shows a spinning circle - and not showing errors in the inspector. Can you confirm this is a theme issue?

Thanks
Just found this post from earlier today - perhaps regarding this issue?

Hi there,

It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

Gosh, if the plugin works with WP 2016 theme, regardless of all other plugins activated or deactivated) - see screenshots, and the only difference being that it is not working with the pro/child themes I am not sure what to do next? The triggering event (I believe) was the upgrade from WP 4.8.1 to WP 4.8.2. Does this not indicate the conflict is with the theme?

Also ran PHP info for php 7 (screenshot attached) which shows errors. Not sure this is related but hoping we can find and address the issue.

Please backup your site and switch to the parent theme. If the issue is solved then there is something in your child theme causing the issue. Try removing modified templates, additional functions and custom CSS and JS in the Customizer and widget areas.

If the issue persists even with the parent theme, there might be really a conflict. But, please note that plugin conflicts might not be easily fixed therefore we could not promise an immediate solution and give a timeline. With that said, you should also try to contact the plugin developer.

Thanks.

Having just completed your latest directives, I can confirm that the issue appears to be pro - pro/child theme related as the plugin does not work on either theme. Removing added coded (js, css) from customizer had no affect towards an insight or solution. What was/is interesting is that when I rename my pro child style file, the plugin works. Renaming the pro child functions file had no affect.

I then downloaded a clean pro child style file and installed. When “active” plugin breaks. When Inactive (no child style sheet active) the plugin works.

I hesitate to contact the WP Full calendar developer regarding this issue as their plugin works with a standard wordpress theme and my testing to date indicates this issue has something to do with the child style (or for that matter, the parent pro stylesheet).

That’s all I can add at this point other than to say this all started after updating to WP 4.8.2. For what it’s worth, Siteground indicates that “my theme” is not is not compatible with WP 4.8.2. Is this accurate?

Caught in the middle on this one.

Thanks

Can you confirm you removed all scripts not just in the Customizer?

I see script errors coming from third party scripts.

When you switch to another theme, those scripts aren’t used because you’ve added it in Pro / Pro child. Please make sure the setup is the same.

I’ve also tested WP FullCalendar in my Pro test site and it works so it’s compatible.

With that said, you will need to hire a web developer to investigate what’s happening in your site.

X and Pro are compatible with WP 4.8.2.

Thanks.
