Plugin Conflict after theme update

I’m having an issue with a plugin conlict (WP User Manager). It puts the social login above the menu and duplicates it.

I got a staging site set up. You can see the issue here:
https://stg.solpub.com/free-campaign-sign-in/

I’ve also reached out to the plugin developer for help on their end. It started after a theme update (and can roll back to a previous version to fix it) Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Hello, @coxdigitalarts,

Thanks for writing to us.

I also notice that some of the plugins require an update. I would suggest please update the plugin and then check it again. Regretfully, the issue is coming from the third-party plugin for which we don’t have any compatibility with the theme. Still, we will be interested to investigate and see if anything can be improved in Cornerstone, but please remember that as this is a 3rd party plugin we can’t guarantee any fixes.

I would suggest you troubleshoot with a few of the common issues before we investigate your settings.

  1. Testing For Theme Related Issue
  2. Testing For Plugin Conflict
  3. Theme Update
  4. Child Theme
  5. Css/Js Customization
  6. Increasing Php Memory Limit
  7. Disabling Cache
  8. Disabling Cdn
  9. Permalinks
  10. Version Compatibility

Thanks for understanding

Thanks - I’ve checked all of the above and have also spoken with the plugin developer. They’ve tested on their end and have said it’s a problem with the theme.

I’ve done further testing and while checking from the theme’s page builder, it’s displayed without any issues - https://share.getcloudapp.com/o0u6r1BQ

There seems to be an issue only within the theme’s page builder as the shortcode displayed without an issue while using the theme and the default Wordpress’ editor - https://share.getcloudapp.com/KoudvRlW

Any next steps you’d recommend?

Hi @coxdigitalarts,

I have created a test page using the Content Builder and used the Raw Content element to add the Shortcode and didn’t find the duplication issue. It only shows out of the Raw Content box, are you trying to point that as an issue? If that is not the case and you are trying to point out something else, please provide any screenshot marked with the issue or any video that helps us to recognize the problem.

Thanks

No - please check out this page:
https://stg.solpub.com/free-campaign-sign-in/

You’ll see it the way it should appear (site is currently on Version 4.2.3)

However, after upgrading to 4.3.3 it breaks the layout. The button goes above the header. Please feel free to upgrade and see what happens. Admin credentials above.

Hi @coxdigitalarts,

It will be very difficult to recognize the issue without comparing the output on 4.2.3 and 4.3.3. I would suggest you update the Pro to 4.3.3 in your staging server and let us know to investigate the issue further.

Thanks

Sure - the theme is updated to the most recent version. You can now see the issue

Hi @coxdigitalarts,

Thank you for updating the theme. I went ahead and instead of Raw Content element, I used Text element for your shortcode and it worked fine. There might be some output the shortcode generates which was breaking the theme when using Raw Content element. Changing the element resolved the issue.

Please note that we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script.

Thanks!

That’s great - thank you. Is there any reason it would work in a text block but not raw HTML?

Thanks for the fix

Hi @coxdigitalarts,

Glad that we are able to help you.

Thanks
