Please add cart contents counter to Pro > Headers > cart elements

If there isn’t already a way to do this that I am somehow missing… (??) please add a cart contents counter option to the cart elements in the header/footer builders in Pro.

I’ve looked into how to implement this, but without access to the cart elements’ html output (i.e. the classes and html structure) it would be very difficult to add this type of customization.

I would love to use the X Pro cart toggle elements, instead of creating my own, since they are well integrated into the headers/footers. Adding my own cart-count element and then trying to fit it into an existing Pro header/footer would be a pain in the ass.

Having a cart counter is a very common practice, or at least some kind of visual feedback to alert the user that there are items in their cart.

Another common practice is for the cart toggle icon to be hidden completely unless there are items in the cart.

All of the above features would be pretty easy to add to the cart elements as options, but they are very difficult to implement as customizations from within a child theme.

If you could please add this as a feature request, that would be great. Or maybe this is already on the road map?

Thanks for your feedback. I’ll add this to our list of feature request. Please stay tuned if this would be implemented in the future.

For now, in the shop and product category pages, there is an ajax add to cart animation when you add an item to cart. In the single product page, you have a notification after the page reloads.
