Placing WooCommerce template in a child theme of Pro doesn't work for us

Hello our lovely theme support, and thank you for helping us solving the issues!

Recently we are trying to override a WooCommerce template. It works from direct editing a plugin file. But when we try to place it in our Pro child theme (woocommerce directory copying the plugin’s directory structure) directory, then it doesn’t work.

Can you please help us to figure this out?

Kind regards,

Hello There,

To help you better, can you clarify what you are trying to achieve? Which template do you want to override from what folder and where did you add it on your child theme? Also share your site URL. In case you have caching, note to clear cache. We will gladly once we know more details.

Hello Lely,

we are trying to change this single product template (add an image below the ‘Add to Cart’ button):
wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/single-product/add-to-cart/simple.php

And it works with editing the file directly in a plugin directory. But it’s not the right way.
We tried to put it in our child theme here with no results:
wp-content/themes/pro-child/woocommerce/templates/single-product/add-to-cart/simple.php

At the moment we disabled the file edition in a woocommerce plugin directory.
It only sits in a child theme now and doesn’t work.

You can try it here: https://www.aromaoutfitters.com/shop/blue-leather-lava-stone-bracelet/

Thank you for your time, Lely

Hi There,

The location of the file on your child theme is wrong. Add it on this folder instead:
wp-content\themes\pro-child\woocommerce\single-product\add-to-cart\simple.php
As you can see on the main Pro theme, woocommerce customization is on this folder:
wp-content\themes\pro\woocommerce\single-product
Templates folder is not needed.

Hope this helps.
