Hi there!
I would like to replicate something I’ve seen on a lot of SquareSpace websites - an alert/info bar/banner pinned to the bottom of the screen that can be closed by the visitor. This bar appears over/on top of the website and stays on the bottom of the screen as the visitor scrolls, until it is closed. I have tried using the alert element, but it requires a container that then shows up as blank space once the bar is closed, and is not scroll responsive. Is there an easy way to do this? I’m trying to avoid installing a third party plug-in.
Thank you!
Hello Emi,
Thanks for writing in! Be advised that what you are trying to do will require extensive coding. Most info bars will stay in position even after you scroll the page. You can position it to the top, left, right, or bottom of the page. You can create an info bar by using the ConvertPlus plugin which you can check it here:
Hope this helps.
When I was choosing a page builder, I actually picked Pro because I saw this bar functioning exactly as I needed on your demos (https://demo.theme.co/designcloud/footers/ravenwood/). If this isn’t available in Theme X Pro, it’s a bit misleading. I just want to double check - are you sure there is no way to do this within Pro? Thank you!
Hello Emi,
Are you referring to the black bar at the bottom?
This is actually a custom-coded specifically for our demo templates. Regretfully this is not included out of the box if you install the Pro theme.
Best Regards.
Yes, that is what I was looking for… This is a functionality available in some other builders that I was specifically looking for in Pro when I was choosing between builders. Disappointed it’s not available, but thanks for replying so quickly and letting me know! Alternatively, is there any way to generate a clickable alert on the screen that isn’t tied to a bar and container, outside of installing a third party plug in?
Hello Emi,
We do have a Content Dock extension. You can check more about it here:
Other than this, ConvertPlus plugin is your best option.
Cheers.
