PHP7 update causes 503 error - site code outside default WP folders

When I try to shift my site to php7, it creates a 503 error. I worked with our host (Pagely). They set up a duplicate site that works fine and is fully functional in php7. But, they copied over only the /wp-content folder.

They think there may be some type of code outside of the default WP folders that is causing the issue.

Is there code in the X theme that would create such an issue? Perhaps with Cornerstone?

Error 503 is server related error. It does not have anything to do with X or in any default WordPress theme. Please check out this article: https://www.lifewire.com/503-service-unavailable-explained-2622940

By the way, if you are running WordPress 5.0.2, please make sure that you are using PHP7.2. You can check out the rest of the requirements to run WordPress 5.0 from here: https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

Thanks for clarifying that this is not related to theme-based code. I will indeed be upgrading to php7.2. I guess I’ll simply proceed with making the duplicate site live.
